The Payroll Garnishment Analyst is responsible for the coordination of HR and payroll garnishment activities, while performing a wide variety of tasks related to employee payroll records.  Leads the research and resolution of HR and payroll issues for all employees in relation to employee garnishments.  Performs diverse tasks to meet all weekly and semi-monthly payroll production deadlines.  Notifies management of any questionable practices or concerns.




  • Performs critical analysis of multiple garnishment types, in multi-state environments, ensuring that garnishments are applied and completed in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal forms regarding garnishment and child support orders, to include sorting, filing, and maintain writs, IWOs, communications and other related documents.
  • Responds to interrogatories, sends termination notices, and processes any other correspondence required by the agencies or corporate policy.
  • Performs other garnishment related duties or special projects as assigned, including garnishment account reconciliations and payment service garnishment cases.
  • Prepares garnishment refunds with required documentation, when necessary.
  • Verifies garnishment deductions or special items on the payroll preview for accuracy.
  • Follows department policy and ensures compliance with all Federal and State laws for employee garnishments. Makes sure that the payments are updated on the payroll.
  • Researches and resolves employee and vendor issues by researching problems and suggesting solutions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Acts as a back-up for Payroll Specialists and assists when needed.

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree preferred, 5+ years of direct payroll experience specializing in employee garnishments.  Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.  Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.  This job requires the ability to create and interpret spreadsheets and operate general office machines.
