New Construction HVAC Warranty / Service Manager

Provides planning and management in the safe and efficient servicing of HVAC equipment, components and systems in commercial and/or residential settings. Utilizes human resources effectively to manage workload, achieve production and margin objectives and provide HVAC services to customers and contractors.

♦ Manages and develops the Service staff, which includes hiring, terminating and disciplining of employees, scheduling employees, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counseling employees, evaluating performance and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
♦ Evaluates work load and schedules service work in a way that best utilizes manpower and maximizes profits.
♦ Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
♦ Ability to create and manage budgets.
♦ Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs. Schedules repairs for parts to ensure minimal downtime in job completion.
♦ Conducts research and participates in the marketing process of the department.
♦ Generates reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles. Reviews reports with management.
♦ Instructs crews on the proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
♦ Reviews payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly.
♦ May conduct job site surveys.
♦ Ensures that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
♦ Assists the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for the type of service.
♦ Monitors preventive maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operation.
♦ Evaluates staff to determine training requirements. Provides on-the-job training and support to employees.
♦ Oversees facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlled.
♦ Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
♦ Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
♦ Follow the guidelines for the Senior Care, Ethics, and Quality Assurance Process.
♦ Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required with 6-8 years of experience in HVAC service. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Working knowledge of gas piping, electricity, plumbing, and airflow are required. Journeyman licensure is desired. A valid driver’s license is required. Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards. Strong supervisory, communications, computer, and mathematical skills are required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Requires the ability to read and comprehend a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods, and procedures. Requires the ability to write reports and correspondence. Requires the ability to effectively and respectfully present information in one-on-one, small and large group situations to customers, management and employees of the organization.
NUMERICAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to understand geometric concepts.
FORM/SPATIAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape.
REASONING ABILITY: Requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, engineering specifications, unit assembly, duct systems and operating instructions/manuals.
MANUAL DEXTERITY: Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination. Must be able to understand and utilize a computer for reporting functions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical demand requirements are at levels for sedentary work. Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and color vision as needed for visual inspections of HVAC systems and working on a computer.
PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION: Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words) and/or hear (perceiving sounds of nature by ear.) Physical appearance presented to the customer must be positive.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS: Work is regularly performed in an office setting. Must have the ability to operate a Company service vehicle and travel throughout the service area.
