POSITION SUMMARY:
Designs, develops, trains, and mentors HVAC Installation Technicians with technical training programs and conducts training for employees in alignment with business objectives. Works with all levels within the branch to design, enhance or modify existing programs to meet current standards across a variety of mediums including e-learning, in coordination with corporate initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews and evaluates all training materials, methods and design on a continuous basis to improve effectiveness to targeted audiences.

Serves as a subject matter expert by validating training content and effectiveness, editing for accuracy, and modifying to ensure all content areas are technically accurate and achieve established training goals.

Develops training schedules.

Conducts and participates in needs analysis studies to determine current and anticipated future technical training needs.

Conducts training sessions covering equipment, components and systems used in residential settings.
 
Provides technical support to technicians in the field, or by phone, including during evening and weekend hours, as needed.

Schedules and conducts job site visits and inspections in accordance with prescribed guidelines for such visits.

Confers with Service Center and Region management and interfaces with Branch and Regional level training managers and other areas of the organization to gain knowledge of specific products, industry topics, procedures, regulations, and technologies. Maintains exceptional domain knowledge, product expertise, and knowledge of industry practices.

Ensures that the organization’s training programs adhere to appropriate state or local apprenticeship standards.

Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops, and create specialty seminars upon request.

Identifies and develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.

Identifies and develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used at completion of training. Tests trainees, measures progress, and reports the effectiveness and impact of the programs.

May assist with interviewing Service Technicians to assess technical proficiency and skill level.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required as well as a minimum of five (15) years of Service and Repair experience in HVAC. Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. A valid driver’s license and communications/human relations skills are required. Must possess a working knowledge of general industry standards and possess basic computer skills. Must possess ability to speak in front of groups and deliver presentations.
