ARS/Rescue Rooter HR Generalist - As an important member of our team, you’ll be responsible for directly providing HR and Payroll support in a fast growing national service company in our Aurora, CO location.  Your knowledge and expertise will be crucial to the management and support in the functional areas of HR administration, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation and employment law compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering pay plans and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Investigate incidents and determine and recommend appropriate employee relations actions to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. Reports incidents to Regional Human Resources Director when appropriate.
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of personnel changes and additions to employee files.
  • Identify legal risks and ensure government reporting for EEO, ERISA and Wage & Hour regulations.
  • Process weekly payroll for hourly paid and commission based employees.
  • Ensure managers provide proper documentation and review employee appeals through the complaint process to ensure that employees are being treated fairly.
  • Administration of pre-employment testing, and assist in conducting interviews and reference checks on potential candidates.
  • Plans and conducts new employee onboarding process to inform and foster a positive attitude toward Company objectives.
  • Communicate and implement policies and procedures that meet the needs of the Company and comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Work closely with Regional Human Resources Director on succession planning issues to identify internal strengths for filling key openings in the service center. Provide feedback regarding employees’ potential for promotion based on personal interaction, performance reviews and conversations with employees at all levels.
  • Provide training to employees for benefits enrollments, sexual harassment avoidance, customer service and related issues.
  • Perform benefit and payroll problem resolution.
  • Analyze turnover and compensation data for corporate reporting.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality and responds to requests for information.
  • Observe all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Looking for a candidate who has;

  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices and practical application in the workplace.
  • Ability to advise management in personnel hiring/firing decisions in accordance with laws and best practices, ensuring that the decisions are in the best interests of the company and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which encompasses solid grammar skills, excellent listening skills, and the ability to communicate effectively through phone, in-person, and electronic communications.
  • Strong computer aptitude, with strong knowledge around the MS Office Suite, including Outlook, internet searching, and web-based applications, as well as the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • A go-getter mentality, with a professional, positive, energetic attitude and a desire to go above and beyond given project parameters.
  • The ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, to keep the information organized, and to learn on the fly.
  • A commitment to top-notch customer service, follow-through, and professionalism.
  • Ability to quickly build relationships and trust with colleagues and maintain confidentiality

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or 3-5 years of human resources generalist experience is required. Related education and/or training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Knowledge of labor law required. Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, strong interpersonal and communications skills are required.
