The Community Relations Manager is primarily responsible for the development strategy and execution of the company’s corporate giving, volunteerism, and civic leadership initiatives as well as corporate sponsorships.  This individual will work closely with the Communications team to enhance brand awareness and perception through cause marketing campaigns.

The Community Relations Manager will help distinguish and differentiate ARS in the marketplace as a company committed to the well-being of its communities. He/she will sustain positive relationships with community members, nonprofit organizations, and fellow employees in order to cultivate a favorable operating climate for the city in which we live, work and play.



  • Manage the execution of national community outreach programs and corporate volunteer activities (Night to Shine, We are ARS week, ARS Cares, etc.).
  • Work closely with the Communications Director to design holistic cause marketing campaigns that include employee engagement, PR, social media, co-branding, etc.
  • Drive strategic community relations initiatives, policies and programs by regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the business objectives.
  • Negotiate terms and sponsorship requirement with all supported organizations to ensure brand and message fidelity with all relationships.
  • Manage corporate sponsorship/cause marketing budget and calendar of events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate and field personnel to continually encourage involvement in cause marketing activities.
  • Support Field Marketing managers by helping them plan robust and meaningful branch community activity calendars and events.
  • Edit and maintain a quarterly Community Relations newsletter.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field.
  • Five (5) years of direct experience in marketing, corporate cause marketing, communications or working with a non-profit.
  • Passion for community involvement and non-profit support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude with non-profits, associates, business vendors and management. Be a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Consistent follow-through and sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Meeting and event planning experience preferred.
  • Copywriting background preferred.
  • Prior established community relationships in the Memphis area is a plus.
