Company: ARS/Rescue Rooter

American Residential Services (ARS Rescue Rooter) is seeking an experienced Controller who is a focused, hands-on financial management partner for our Tampa Office.

The Controller will:

  • Manage & develop the Accounting Staff and which includes hiring, coaching & terminations where necessary.
  • Schedule employees, set work priorities, conduct staff meetings, train & coach employees and direct work assignment to ensure effective departmental performance.
  • Prepare month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors and produce schedules & documentation.
  • Audit payroll functions to ensure accuracy of processing & compliance with all corporate guidelines and all state/federal wage & hour laws.
  • Oversee billing, credit and collections processes and provide support as needed.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to “look beyond the numbers” to assist the GM with P&L trends and insights helping the GM grow the business.
  • BA in Accounting or related field and a minimum of five years of progressive general accounting experience.
  • Expertise in MS Office.
  • Excellent time-management & organizational skills.

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related discipline and 7-9 years of general accounting experience are required.  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required. Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Must be able to use a calculator, create and interpret spreadsheets and operate general office machines
